New Style in Cantonese Opera?

Recently saw 2 different Mun Moh Sang in Singapore. Overall the show is OK except one common thing - both of these artist do not 'hold' the last beat of the percussion with 'strength'. Is in a new trend from Hong Kong (both artist are from Hong Kong). It looks abit 'soft' for a 'mun moh sang' to act this way.
